Hypnotherapy and NLP
Hypnosis could be best described as ‘a pleasant state of complete relaxation, but which no unwilling subject can ever be forced into’. It requires the full co-operation of the subject, who must want it to happen, expect it to happen, and allow it to happen. The subject cannot be forced to do anything by hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is a completely natural method of combining hypnosis with therapy (discussion and relaxation) as a means of helping a willing subject to overcome his or her particular problem.
Some typical problems which hypnotherapy can help include, anxiety, stress, phobias (fears), tension headaches, poor self-image and self-esteem, abuse problems and issues, addictions (smoking, alcohol etc.), eating problems and disorders, weight problems, irritable bowel syndrome and driving test & pre-examination nerves.
Hypnosis can very often be extremely beneficial in helping you to relax and deal with matters that you may otherwise have difficulty in talking about. There are no tricks or magic involved in hypnotism and hypnotherapy, but the relaxation which it gives you will help you to achieve your desired goal, whether it be overcoming a nervous problem, the control of an eating disorder, or helping you to get your life in order.
All, or any of these ends are achievable, if you wish to achieve them!
Psychotherapy
“What is the difference between Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy?”
Psychotherapy is like an umbrella, with hypnotherapy as one of its many spokes. Psychotherapy is quite simply the treatment of a problem by psychological methods, such as counselling, listening, relaxation and visualisation. All of these things are used to treat the client and to assist their unconscious mind to achieve beneficial change.
